Mise-en-scene: Dull lighting to portray a gritty and bleak
nature and perhaps during the end of the drama lighting is more bright which
may portray a happy ending for a character or they have reached their
'destination' as a developing character, Lots of high angles and low angles
portray the importance and power amongst characters. Close up of characters and
clear shots and angles of different groups within the cast. Props are typically
knifes, guns alcohol, mobile phones.
Camera/Editing: Slow paced editing, fast paste editing
(punctuate time). Close ups to show characters’ emotions, body language, facial
expressions, high and low angles representing characters’ importance.
Sound and Music: Ambient sound- background noise creating
verisimilitude and setting the atmosphere. Synthesis music, music depending on
atmosphere and characters mood or situation.
